On Tuesday September 18th we braved the rain to join our allies at the DMV on Smithfield Street.
Arlene Baker-Holt of the AFL-CIO, Former NFL Player Nolan Harrison, and Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald and others took the stage and talked about the need to stop the Voter ID law put in place by PA republicans.
The law, often poorly explained by those in charge, would require that all voters need a current photo ID with an expiration date in order to vote. This would disenfranchise over 750,000 Pennsylvanians either due to the difficulty of getting the documents needed to secure a photo ID, the time and money needed to travel to the DMV and get the ID, or plain confusion over the law.
